TCGC Fall 2017 Meeting
October 21, 2017 - Diana, Texas

The Texas Carnival Glass Club Fall 2017 meeting was hosted by Paul Stein and Liz Whatley at their home in Diana, Texas.  Their home is a few miles north of Longview, Texas.

The meeting was quite well attended and guests found Paul and Liz's home to be full of collectible treasures.  Many forms of art glass in addition to the beautiful and extensive carnival glass collection.  A good amount of time was spent in viewing, discussing and getting updates from friends.  A fine lunch was served after which the club business meeting commenced.  Discussions centered around arrangements for the 2018 convention in March in Dallas.  We will be using the same facility where the conventions have been held the last several years.  Club officers announced that a well deserving club couple will be receiving the Whitley Award at the 2018 convention.  In addition to convention preparations there was extended conversation regarding the recently completed on-line Seeck Auctions sale for Texas Club members.  Plans are now underway to put together a similar sale at some point in 2018.  The meeting concluded after a typical raucus round of "show-and-tell".  Many interesting pieces and a good time was had by all during the discussion.

Texas Carnival Glass Club Summer 2017 meeting

June 10, 2017 – Houston, TX

The Texas Carnival Glass Club summer meeting was hosted by David Kastor at his home in Houston.  Attendance was up and the afternoon event was delightful.  Attendees learned that David is a true collector.  In addition to beautiful and brightly displayed carnival glass the home was filled with other collectibles (glass, furniture, vases, ......).  This was indeed a rare opportunity to see some fabulous items.  Lunch was superior and everyone had a great time. Those who could not be there really did miss a warm, friendly, and educational club special event.

Here are a couple sample pictures from the meeting at David's home.  Please click on the Rose Bowl picture to go to the photo album and a larger set of pictures from the June 2017 TCGC meeting.
